Hey, I’m Captain Rob Schmidt — thanks for stopping by. Fishing has been in my blood for as long as I can remember. I grew up in Upstate New York, chasing striped bass, pike, and trout every chance I got. That love for the water never let go of me. After high school I headed out to Colorado to chase trout in the mountains, and I got my start in the industry working at Duranglers Flies and Supplies. Those years took me to some incredible places, and the more I traveled, the more I realized saltwater was where my heart truly was. When my family made the move to Florida’s west coast, Be Salty Fishing Company was born. These days you’ll find me on the water in Tampa Bay, sharing the places and the fish I love most — with more than ten years of guiding behind me on both fly and spinning tackle. Whether it’s your first cast or your thousandth, I’d love to have you out there with me.
